    The founders, Joan, Joaquím and Càndid Cañigueral, found the family company in Cassà de la Selva (Girona). The company JOAN CAÑIGUERAL S.A. is subsequently founded and the MONTER brand is born. 

    Subsequently, its sales are expanded in Barcelona and the surrounding area with a centre in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.

    FRIGORÍFICOS COSTA BRAVA

    The FRIGORÍFICOS COSTA BRAVA S.A. abattoir is opened in Riudellots de la Selva (Girona), jointly with two more companies.

    EMBUTITS MONTER S.L. is founded and the facilities for a cured meat products factory in St. Jaume de Llierca are acquired.

    It becomes an integrated supplier of MERCADONA .

    Creation of the white room in the Sant Jaume de Llierca factory, and expansion of the facilities with more slicing lines, improving capacity and productivity.

    LES PLANES D’HOSTOLES

    The Cañigueral family acquires the Productos Cárnicos Pirene factory, in Les Planes d’Hostoles to continue expanding the business.

    COOPECARN Cassà / COOPECARN Quart:

    Acquisition of Coopecarn Girona S.L. (Quart).

    New frozen and marinated meat activity, primarily for export.

    EMBUTITS MONTER - LES PLANES

    In 2011 the first phase of expansion of the Les Planes facility begins.

    Robot technology is introduced in the manufacture of the product.

    A year later, the second phase of the expansion of the Les Planes centre is initiated, with new driers that increase the drying capacity by 250 tons per year.

    COOPECARN GIRONA S.L.U.

    Merger between the Cassá de la Selva head office and the Quart centre to create the COOPECARN GIRONA S.L.U. company.

    FAR SERRANO HAM

    Grupo Cañigueral acquires the FAR Jamón Serrano, S.A.U. company, located in Les Preses (Girona), with the aim of introducing all of the range of charcuterie in the group, diversifying the business and expanding sales by increasing exports.

    FRESCOS DELISANO

    A new addition to Grup Cañigueral: FRESCOS Y ELABORADOS DELISANO S.A.U. is an innovative plant specialising in cutting and packaging.

    A Mercadona supplier, it is committed to freshness and works with fresh pork and lamb, processed products, burger meats and preparations for stews.

    It is based in Xest (València) and has over 1.000 employees.

    COSTA BRAVA FOODS  GROWS

    Costa Brava Foods presents the expansion of the new factory with a useful surface of 23,000m2.

    In February 2008, Cañigueral Group acquires new facilities in Vilamalla (Girona) and adds 10,000 square meters as the second cutting room of Costa Brava Foods.

    The Group Cañigueral presents the new international brand COSTA BRAVA MEDITERRANEAN FOODS that groups all products of its companies destined to the exportation. It has three ranges: FRESH, DELICIOUS i TRADITION.

    The SIAL PARIS International Trade Show, celebrated from 21 to 25 of October, was the comercial baptism of the new brand.

    The COSTA BRAVA MEDITERRANEAN FOODS catalogue include new beef products produced by FRICAFOR company.

    From now on it adds to the fresh meat, to cured meats products, snacks and others meats products, the new and big beef family.
