From August 3rd to 8th, the ICoMST (International Congress of Meat Science and Technology) was held in the city of Girona, organized by IRTA (Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology) and the Government of Catalonia. This was the 71st edition of this important congress, held under the motto\u00a0\u2018Real Meat, Real Care\u2019<\/em>, aiming to emphasize the importance of meat as a nutritional, natural, and sustainable product.<\/p>\n

Throughout the congress, presentations and round tables addressed topics that directly affect companies in the sector, such as\u00a0\u201cSustainability in meat production,\u201d \u201cSafety and quality,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cTraditional meat products and innovative trends.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

At COSTA BRAVA MEDITERRANEAN FOODS, we were present as sponsors of the \u201cSafety and Quality\u201d session, which featured contributions from Veronique Sant\u00e9-Lhoutellier of INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique) in France, and Anna Jofr\u00e9 from IRTA (Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology).<\/p>\n

In addition, our data coordinator, Joan Masseg\u00fa, took part in the round table\u00a0\u201cDigital transformation in the meat industry\u201d<\/em>, alongside Grup Batall\u00e9 and CSB-System. During the session, the importance of the sector\u2019s digital transformation was highlighted \u2014 an ongoing effort to adapt to new technologies, optimize processes, and become more sustainable.<\/p>\n
