This is our division that handles the slaughtering and/or quartering, packaging and distribution of fresh and frozen pork and beef products.
We have two industrial companies for this purpose: Frigoríficos Costa Brava S.A.U., which handles pork, and Frigoríficos Cárnicos Las Forcas S.L.U. (Fricafor), which handles beef.
FRIGORÍFICOS COSTA BRAVA S.A.U.
With two production centres (Riudellots de la Selva and Vilamalla – both in Girona), this business unit specialises in slaughtering, quartering and packaging of pork. It has capacity to process 70,000 pigs per week.
The Riudellots de la Selva centre has a slaughter room and a quartering room, plus rooms for different kinds of pork processing with automated processes for fresh and frozen meat. The Vilamalla centre has a quartering room, a ham processing room, and a cutting and packaging room.
Both facilities are equipped with advanced technology for traceability control. They are type-approved for more than 50 countries and have their own microbiology lab.


FRIGORÍFICOS CÁRNICOS LAS FORCAS S.L.U. (FRICAFOR)
Based in Vilafant (Girona), this business unit specialises in beef production.
It has a slaughtering, quartering, cutting and packaging room, a slaughtering capacity of 1,500 head of cattle per week, and modern facilities equipped with the latest technology in line with European Union food safety regulations. It is type-approved to work with more than 30 countries around the world.
It is also Halal-certified to adapt the slaughtering of animals to the regulations of Islamic markets.
