Understanding water as an essential resource that must be preserved, at Costa Brava Mediterranean Foods we continue to promote processes and technologies aimed at optimizing its use and reducing our environmental impact. Thanks to these initiatives, we have managed to reduce water consumption by 20% over the last five years.

Last Monday, we received recognition from the Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona and the Observatori de la Transició Hídrica, together with other companies committed to implementing water efficiency and water-saving measures in their facilities.

The responsible management of this resource is a key pillar of our sustainability strategy. To achieve this, we have implemented actions such as preventive maintenance programs for leak detection and prevention, the installation of low-consumption and controlled-flow taps and sprinklers, the automation of washing processes, and the use of our own water treatment plants. At the group’s largest facility, these measures make it possible to reuse up to 18% of the water consumed.

In addition to water savings, these actions have helped reduce our CO₂ emissions by 121 tons, an impact equivalent to the daily water consumption of 730 households.

At Costa Brava Mediterranean Foods, we would like to thank the Observatori de la Transició Hídrica for this recognition, which reinforces our commitment to sustainability and to preserving such a vital resource as water.
