At Costa Brava Mediterranean Foods, we are committed to reducing the use of plastic and promoting the use of recycled plastic in all our packaging. As part of the Environmental area of our sustainability roadmap, ‘10 Objectives Horizon’, we have made a firm commitment to the circular economy, reducing the use of virgin plastic in our packaging and promoting the use of recycled plastic.

This commitment guides the work of our teams and has driven us to ensure that at least 70% of the plastic used in the packaging of our own-brand cured products is recycled.

In line with this commitment, the ‘Recycled Packaging’ seal provides an easy and quick way to identify Costa Brava Mediterranean Foods products whose packaging contains a high percentage of recycled plastic. The seal, featured on our own-brand sliced cured products and Tapas format, guarantees that the packaging contains more than 70% and 80% recycled plastic, respectively.

This and other sustainability commitments have enabled us to reduce the use of plastic per kilogram of product by 19% since 2019.
