Yesterday, our Sustainability Director, Joaquín Navarro, took part in the panel discussion “Pork with Impact: Wealth, Employment, and Sustainability”, organized by Diari de Girona, Interporc and Prensa Ibérica.

The conversation focused on the meat industry’s impact on job creation and economic growth in the region, and the companies’ commitment to pursuing an increasingly sustainable model.
Joaquín highlighted the sector’s remarkable adaptability and the evolution of professional roles, which are becoming more technical without losing the essence of traditional work.
“It’s a great responsibility to maintain sustainable growth, always reading and responding to our surroundings.”

A second panel also emphasized the important role of meat as a healthy and nutritious food, as well as its relevance to the Mediterranean diet and our cultural heritage.
