Proud of the people around us!
We are collaborating with La Xarxa to address the economic devastation that the pandemic is bringing to our environment.
Grup Cañigueral has mobilized to help curb the effects of the pandemic and to support food supply efforts for families in the Alt Empordà region.
A few weeks ago, we began a collaboration with the NGO La Xarxa, a non-profit initiative aimed at addressing the needs of families facing difficulties accessing food and basic necessities.
This initiative focuses on supporting individuals and families who either lack access to essential services or receive insufficient aid to cover their daily needs. La Xarxa distributes food and essential items to these families, managing requests and donations, and coordinating the purchase and delivery of groceries and other vital products.
The organization is calling on companies to get involved, as the number of families in need has steadily increased since the onset of the crisis. The NGO accepts all types of donations — both in-kind and financial. Its headquarters are located in Figueres and it operates every other Thursday.
Costa Brava Mediterranean Foods steps up to ensure food security for the local population
Thanks to the dedication of La Xarxa’s team of volunteers, many families in the Figueres area are receiving support for their most basic needs — including access to food. Our Costa Brava Mediterranean Foods plant in Vilamalla is fully committed, making regular deliveries every two weeks to ensure that no family goes without, and that no one suffers from hunger or poverty. We work every day to protect the health and well-being of our people and those around us.
In partnership with La Xarxa, Costa Brava Mediterranean Foods has prepared food baskets filled with fresh products such as meat, vegetables, fruit, eggs, milk, potatoes, and other essentials like diapers and soap.
Through this solidarity initiative, we have been able to support 128 families across the Alt Empordà region, including 90 families in Figueres, as well as others in La Jonquera, Llançà, and Roses.
Thank you, La Xarxa!
