We participated in the 71st ICoMST 2025 organized in Girona
From August 3rd to 8th, the ICoMST (International Congress of Meat Science and Technology) was held in the city of Girona, organized by IRTA (Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology) and the Government of Catalonia. This was the 71st edition of this important congress, held under the motto ‘Real Meat, Real Care’, aiming to emphasize the importance of meat as a nutritional, natural, and sustainable product.
Throughout the congress, presentations and round tables addressed topics that directly affect companies in the sector, such as “Sustainability in meat production,” “Safety and quality,” and “Traditional meat products and innovative trends.”
At COSTA BRAVA MEDITERRANEAN FOODS, we were present as sponsors of the “Safety and Quality” session, which featured contributions from Veronique Santé-Lhoutellier of INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique) in France, and Anna Jofré from IRTA (Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology).
In addition, our data coordinator, Joan Massegú, took part in the round table “Digital transformation in the meat industry”, alongside Grup Batallé and CSB-System. During the session, the importance of the sector’s digital transformation was highlighted — an ongoing effort to adapt to new technologies, optimize processes, and become more sustainable.
“The challenge is having the key information when and where it is needed. The big change lies within the company culture,” stated Joan.
